#1 Home Care Nottingham

Peace of mind starts with care you can trust.

Trust is hard to come by. Many say the right things, but few follow through. Who shows up when they say they will? Who takes time to really connect with Dad’s stories, or Mum’s mood? You’re stretched thin and doing your best. What you deserve is care that’s both dependable and heartfelt.

Not Just anyone should walk through their front door

You wouldn’t let a stranger walk into your parent’s home without knowing who they are. So why does it feel like that’s what every care agency expects you to do? A quick bio, a promise of “fully vetted staff,” and suddenly that’s meant to be enough. But it’s not. This is your mum. Or your dad. The person who raised you, who still wants to be seen and heard, not just helped with the bins.

You don’t want someone who clocks in and out. You want someone who shows up and actually sees them. Someone who chats while they make lunch, who notices when something’s off, who treats your parent like a person… not a job. Because it’s not just care. It’s trust. And once that’s broken, it’s hard to fix.

Exceptional Care That Exceeded Expectations

"Angels have supported my elderly parent in the last 3-4 years of their life. They have been easy to contact and able to flex their schedules easily when we needed to alter the pattern of visits for bank holidays etc. There have been two regular carers both of whom have been pleasant and helpful. If there ever were any problems or concerns when my parent was seen I was always contacted to take further action as needed."

"My mother and I would like to thank Angels for their continuing care. My mother is treated as an individual, with respect by a lovely friendly team. As care needs have become more complicated my mum and I have received wonderful advice and care from an experienced Angels team. I work with the carers and also the management team to ensure Mum gets the best of care. I think communication has been very good so Angels' management, carers and myself have worked well with the GP, the pharmacists, the district nurses, the occupational therapists, the speech therapists and the organisation who have provided the necessary equipment so we can look after Mum at home. "Angels initially provided help with bathing for my 96-year-old mum-in-law, but lately, she has needed more help as her mobility has decreased. Angels have been a lifesaver for us as we are not nearby. They have been approachable, accommodating, obliging and very kind."

"I was apprehensive before the first carer arrived, but was soon put at ease by her pleasantness, understanding and competence. This applied to all who visited me. Thank you for the excellent service."

"Following a spell in hospital after a fall, it was organised for the Angels Carers to come and help my 94-year-old mum. This was mainly in respect of helping her with meals, as due to poor mobility, she now struggles with this herself. All of the angels are lovely and Mum enjoyed seeing them as it broke the monotony of a long day alone. Everyone has been really helpful and approachable and helped immensely after a challenging time. Should Mum need further assistance, going forward, she says she would be happy for me to contact Angels Care Services again on her behalf."

"Angels provided care at home for my elderly aunt for approx three years. They adapted to her needs increasing care as necessary. They provided excellent continuity, one carer for most visits who was fantastic. She has a really good relationship with her and went above and beyond to improve the quality of my aunt's life, often in difficult circumstances. Communication with the carer, admin staff and manager was always available and helpful. Should Mum need further assistance, going forward, she says she would be happy for me to contact Angels Care Services again on her behalf."

"We could not have wished for better care for our mum. They respected her dignity and all the carers became her friends. If they had any concerns they always contacted us immediately. A big thank you to Angels."

Husband of Client
"I am very confident with the care offered to my wife by Angels. It is a well-organised service with a very approachable management team. It is clearly important that I feel my wife is getting the best service, and so keep a sharp eye on Angels' activities, so far they have carried out their duties professionally and diligently. Even through the covid crisis, their service was excellent, I have no problems with the service that is offered and the quality of staff employed to deliver it. I think it important to mention that the whole service is managed and directed by the manager, and she needs to be complimented on the direction she takes the service in."

Daughter-In-Law of Client
"We cannot thank Angels Care enough for the kindness and respect and first-class care that enabled my father-in-law to remain in his house up to the end. In this time of cuts to care, the carers did not falter. They went above and beyond the care which they gave freely. I hope that this care company lasts forever."

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

These are real fears, and they matter. No one wants to leave their loved one in the hands of someone unreliable or unkind. A reliable agency
will have a plan in place if carer can’t make it — usually sending backup who already knows the person’s care plan. You can also ask how they screen carers. Do they check not just for training but for kindness, patience, and emotional care? Ask how they handle complaints. You should never feel stuck if something’s not right. A good agency will be quick to act if a carer isn’t the right fit or if there’s a problem. You deserve peace of Mind.

It’s okay to start small. You don’t have to commit to a full care plan right away. Many families begin with few hours week just to ease the
load. Over time, if more help is needed, you can adjust. Good agencies work with your budget and help you understand your options — not just for today, but for the future too. Also, don’t forget there be support available from local councils, insurance or benefits depending on your situation. Some agencies can help you look into this without pressure. The goal isn’t to sell you more care — it’s to find what actually works for your family.

This is one of the hardest parts of starting care. It’s common for people to resist help because they feel scared, embarrassed, or just don’t want to lose independence. The key is to take it slow. Start by introducing the idea as extra help for you rather than for them. For example, say,
“It would help me to have someone check in during the week.”
Some carers are specially trained in dementia or mental health awareness, and they know how to build trust gently. A good agency will listen to how your loved one communicates and find ways to ease the transition. It’s not about forcing anything. It’s about creating bond that makes your loved one feel safe, not watched.

That fear is completely valid. No one wants to feel trapped, especially when it comes to something as personal as care. Before signing anything, ask if there’s trial period or if you can start on week-by-week basis. Find out how easy it is to make changes or stop the service if things aren’t working.
Good agencies will explain the terms clearly and never rush you. You should feel in control, not locked in. If the contract feels confusing or pressured, that’s red flag. The best care relationships are built on trust and flexibility, not fine print.

Consistency is important — not just for routine, but for building comfort and trust. You don’t want someone new turning up every other day. Ask the agency how they manage scheduling. Will your family member have one main carer? Is there o. small team who all know your loved one’s needs?
The more stable the care team, the more likely your loved one will feel safe and seen. If someone is off sick or on holiday, good agency should have backup carer who already knows the routine. You have the right to ask for this kind of structure — it makes huge difference in quality of care.

Not every carer is the right match for every person — and that’s okay. What matters is how the agency responds if it’s not good fit. Ask how they set to know the person before care starts. Do they take time to learn their hobbies, how they like their tea, what makes them laugh?
A carer who “gets” your loved one can make all the difference. It’s about more than just helping with tasks — it’s about making human connection. You should feel confident that the agency listens, adjusts, and finds someone your loved one feels comfortable with.

You’re not asking for too much — kindness and warmth should be the heart of home care. If it ever feels cold or robotic, something’s missing.
The right carer should show up not just to complete list of tasks, but to share moment, laugh, or kind word.
You can ask the agency what values they look for in their carers. Do they just train for skills, or do they focus on empathy, listening, and emotional support too?
It’s okay to want someone who brings a little jog into the home — not just someone who knows how to handle medication. Care should feel human.

You don’t have to dive in all once. Starting care can be gentle and simple. Many families begin with just one visit week — maybe just for cleaning, or companionship, or help with meals. It gives everyone a chance to adjust slowly, without pressure.
This also helps build trust. Your loved one can get used to the carer, and you can see how things feel in real life. Over time, you’ll know what kind of support works best. Think of it as easing in, not jumping in. It’s okay to take it step by step.

Good home care isn’t one-size-fits—all. It should fit the person, not the other way around. That means knowing how your loved one likes their morning tea, what time they like to wake up, whether they enjoy music or quiet, and what makes them feel most at home.
You can ask to be involved in shaping the care plan. The more the carer knows about your loved one — their routines, their history, their worries – the better they can support them in wag that feels right. Personalized care isn’t just nice extra. It’s what makes care feel like care.
